Jammin’ Foods Fest

Target Audience:people ages 21-55, but mainly the younger generation

Project objective

Promote the Jammin' Foods Fest to the people of New Market ad surrounding areas. We used social media to spread the word about this event, specifically Instagram and Facebook.

Key Insights

The Jammin Food fest is a food truck/music festival held in New Market, Virginia. This annual food truck fest is held in the New Market community park. This festival will include a selection of food trucks, live music, vendors, and kid friendly activities. Admission is free for this event because the directors of this event hope to bring the community together, which holding a free event will draw crowds in. The city of New Market has a long history dating back to civil war times. There are so many things for locals and visitors to do and the town always holds events for the people of New Market and surrounding areas to come together.

Research

We started this project off by researching the town of New Market and their history. We also researched festival demographics and other popular festivals to get an idea of what would attract our target audience.

Sketches

After completing our research and searching the web for inspiration we sketched out possible designs for our finals.

Roughs

We narrowed down our sketches and developed eight rough drafts that we felt followed our big idea the best and would appeal to a younger audience

Finals

After getting feedback from our peers, we collectively decided to shy away from the vibrant colors and go for more of a vintage, denim, timeless aesthetic. We created five final posts for Instagram and Facebook, as well as three digital interactive ads that will be seen on social media stories.

Creative Rationale

We changed our approach from the 80s to the idea of Vintage Aesthetic, Denim, Sustainability, Retro, Etc.We want to capitalize on the idea of the indie culture that is popular in music festivals including Woodstock, Coachella, etc. Since we know this is popular with our target audience. We do not want to focus on one era but the idea of timeless Vintage. We want to use denim in our ads which is timeless fashion.

The final step of this project was to mockup our designs and create captions for the posts

Media Rational

We want to use both Instagram & Facebook and have users send in vintage photos of themselves/ their parents with #JammINvintage and a winner will be chosen to win a $50 food voucher to use at the festival.  We could then post it in the website for the festival. We can also do polls about the bands & food trucks on Instagram Storys so we can know what the participates want.
